From as soon as we learnt about our new arrival, I’ve been keeping an eye out for relevant sales and M&S is one of the retailers I’d been previously disappointed with – very few baby items find their way into the M&S sale.
However, on a recent visit to the Leeds store I spotted there was a new ‘up to 50% off’ promotion and headed straight up to the kids section in the hope of finding a few reductions. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection on offer and quickly headed to the till with a few discounted items which I’ve pictured below.
The first item I picked up was this striped sleepsuit with an embroidered duck reduced from £10 to £7. We’ve had this saved on a private Pinterest board for a long time and I was surprised to see such a unseasonal piece in the sale. I chose to get a larger size so it’ll fit Mini at 9 months as we already have quite a few pieces of clothing in smaller sizes.
I’ve pictured the sleepsuit with a large plush elephant we bought from Ikea which is usually found on our Eames-style rocking chair in the spare bedroom.
When I arrived at the reduced rails I also made a beeline for this 2 pack of long-sleeved bodysuits reduced from £8 to £6. We went shopping with my mum the day we had the 20 week scan and Chris had pointed these out but we resisted buying at the time as we’d already picked up quite a few other items.
I imagine that the smile and cheeky slogans will become quite apt as Mini starts showing more of his own personality and becomes more mobile from 6 months.
The bodysuits are pictured with a pull along Peter Rabbit toy I bought at Christmas.
Whatever the Weather
Finally, I chose a light, bright yellow duffle jacket with striped lining and a 2-piece long-sleeved top and leggings set with weather illustrations on. The 2-piece set is actually from the girls section and whilst the illustrations have glitter on them, I think it’s reasonably unisex, particularly when paired with the coat and a pair of pumps.
The jacket was reduced from £14 to £10 and the 2-piece set from £10 to £8 (I think, the reduced sticker has disappeared!). I bought them both in 9-12 months so Mini can wear them next Spring/Summer and we can avoid paying full price for similar items at the time.
I’ve photographed the clothes with a stacking plush duck that we bought from Ikea on a recent visit.
Unfortunately the items above don’t appear to be on the website anymore but it’s well worth checking your local store to see which items they have reduced.
Visit the M&S Sale page to see what other discounts they have available across all of their departments.
