I recently received a mini catalogue in the post from a brand I’d never heard of before, Vertbaudet. I have no idea how they got my name or our address but their direct mail tactic worked as I ended up placing an order that day for a couple of items.
Since my order, I’ve been lusting after a few other items for Mini and discovered that Vertbaudet is linked to La Redoute (where I’d seen some lovely homewares whilst reading the other blogs in the #HomeEtc linky) which inevitably led to me looking on the La Redoute site and adding various items to my basket (before reminding myself that we don’t quite have the disposable income at the moment).
Then, as chance had it, whilst I was searching for a side table or bedside table for Mini’s room I stumbled across French brand, Maisons Du Monde who have some lovely Scandi/vintage furniture at reasonable prices. Cue another wishlist of items for our home and Mini.
I’ve collated together the range of French inspired items / items from French retailers I’m currently hankering over for Mini and will no doubt end up doing a separate interiors wishlist in due course. They are:
1. Mon Joli Bebe Baby’s Cotton Sleepsuit from Vertbaudet, £6.00
2. Storage unit from Vertbaudet, £119.00
3. Baby’s Organic Cotton Fleece All-in-One from Vertbaudet, £13.00 (currently £9.75 in the sale)
4. I’m Little Printed Sweatshirt from La Redoute, £11.00
5. Arrow Printed Cotton Leggings from La Redoute, £6.00
6. Arrow Cross-over Top from La Redoute, £7.00
I’ve gone for a bit of an arrow theme with most of the clothing items above and I’m not sure why but they’re just too cute. I’d probably pick these up in 9 – 12 months for Mini so he could wear them next spring when he’s more mobile and starting to toddle.
I fell in love with the storage unit straight away as it’s playful yet practical for all of the toys and various odds and ends you end up with as a child grows up. This wouldn’t technically fit in Mini’s room at present so it would become a feature in our Scandi-French spare room as there’s a lonely space waiting to be filled now I’ve nabbed the Eames-esque rocking chair from there for Mini’s room.
7. Wooden Child’s Hut Bed from Maisons Du Monde, £489.90
8. Arrow and Triangle Print Pack of 2 Joggers from La Redoute, £12.00
9. “in the clouds” Baby Duvet Cover and Pillow Case from La Redoute, £26.25 (sale price, full price is £35.00)
10. Fabric and solid birch vintage chair in blue from Maisons Du Monde, £79.99
I know I’m thinking ahead of time with the wooden child’s bed but I’ve spotted this hut style of bed on quite a few Scandi and Australian Instagram accounts now and I’m smitten. A bed like this could easily be transformed into a den with stories by torchlight and Mini’s imagination could run wild.
The leggings are highlighting my fondness of clothing with arrows again and I like that these come in a set so it can save a bit of money in the long run, I also have a bit of a thing for clouds at the moment, as you may have seen if you follow me on Twitter. The cloud bed set would fit in nicely with Mini’s room which has a cot that can be transformed into a small bed when he’s old enough.
It’d be a bit early to buy the bedding set now as you’re not meant to give them a duvet for quite a while but if the price drops again, I might be tempted to buy it and store it away for when we need it.
Lastly, I’ve found that I love a good chair and this children’s vintage chair is a timeless piece which could go in any room and see Mini through his childhood. It looks pretty comfortable and would add another homely touch to his room.
Psst… I’ll be revealing Mini’s room in about a fortnight but if you can’t wait until then, there’s some sneak peeks on my Instagram.
