Near Enough: Bingley #TurtleTrek+

April 28, 2015
Places to eat in Bingley, days out in Bingley, Yorkshire walks

On Sunday I embarked on the short train journey to Bingley for a bloggers walk with Turtle Mat. Turtle Mat create rugs that can handle your muddy boots, are easy to clean (they can even be tumble dried) and look rather nice to boot. The lovely warm weather meant that we didn’t have muddy shoes to clean when we refueled in The Brown Cow pub but I’m sure our mats will come in handy when the weather turns soggy again.…

Near Enough: Yorkshire Sculpture Park

April 25, 2015

It’s that time of year where we start thinking about places we can adventure to – those that aren’t too far away but that make us feel like we’ve travelled further than we have because they offer a sense of escapism. In Yorkshire we have plenty of places we can travel to without too much other – both on public transport and by car and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a highlight for many. Near Enough: Bassenthwaite Lake

February 17, 2015
Bassenthwaite Lake, North Lakes, Lake District National Park, Travel Blog, Travel Bloggers

For the Valentines weekend we were staying at a hotel in the lakes called Ravenstone Manor. The manor is nestled into the landscape with a perfect vantage point overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake and we had picturesque views from our window. On our first morning waking up at the hotel, we decided to venture down to the lake and make the most of the glorious blue skies we’d woken up to (after breakfast of course). Transport yourself there with the images below.…

Near Enough: Otley Chevin Forest Park

February 4, 2015

At the weekend we found ourselves having no commitments at short notice and decided to go on a little amble somewhere. I let Chris ponder where we should go whilst I got ready and he decided on Otley. I’d never been to Otley before (other than on the bus to Ilkley) but had seen photos of the Chevin from a couple of people I follow on Instagram. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect but by the time we got…

Near Enough: Snow Day at Roundhay Park

January 19, 2015

On Saturday we woke up to snowflakes falling and for some reason I was motivated to get out and about and walk to Roundhay Park. It was strange considering we’d sat up chatting into the early hours with a friend but you’ve gotta make the most of the motivation whilst it’s around. After getting up and ready, I waited by the door (complete with multiple layers and my wellies) whilst Chris put his shoes and coat on – kinda like…

Near Enough: Goathland and Whitby

January 2, 2015

Keen to make the most of the current Winter sunshine we recently embarked on a little road trip to Whitby via Goathland. We had a wonderful time and will have to return to Whitby soon to visit some of the coffee shops, bars and bakeries we admired but didn’t have the time or hunger to venture into. Ate: Haddock and chips with curry sauce at The Fisherman’s Wife, Whitby Admired: Snowscapes across the North Yorkshire Moors Bought: Pick ‘n’ Mix…
