La Casita, Horsforth

August 17, 2016

A couple of weeks ago we attended our first blogger event as a family, the launch of La Casita in Horsforth. La Casita is a tapas bar serving a range of authentic Spanish tapas, beer and wine. With bars in Ilkley and Boston Spa already, the Horsforth launch implies that La Casita have a winning formula. As with many launches, canapes are circulated and wine is flowing. Keen to get a wider taste of the menu, we ordered from a…

Itsu, Leeds+

Itsu Leeds

Itsu has been open on Commercial Street in Leeds for a few weeks now and ahead of their opening in the city I was kindly sent a box of their own brand goodies to introduce me to a few of the foods they’d have on offer. After wandering past a few times on my lunch and seeing it bustling with people eating out on their breaks, I decided to visit when it was a little quieter one evening. When I…

TGI Friday’s, Trinity Leeds

August 20, 2015
hotdog, bbq hotdog, american food leeds, trinity leeds food,

I recently visited the TGI Friday’s restaurant in Trinity Leeds to try out their new Summer menu. There were 4 of us in total so this gave us the opportunity to try dishes from different areas of the menu: Dom had the Fridays Double Glazed Jack Daniels Burger with Sweet Potato Fries, Emma had the Crispy Tostada Stacks with Chicken, Heather had the Chicken Finger BLT with Waffles and I had the Uncle Sam hotdog. Drinks wise we were pretty…

The Woods, Chapel Allerton

August 10, 2015

Last week I visited the newly reopened The Woods in Chapel Allerton. Under new management, the Chapel A local is trying to shake off the perception that it’s still closed and whilst the building hasn’t offered its previous owners much luck, the new landlords are positive about the future. Rather than reinvent the previous model of cocktails, extensive wine menus and family friendly film screenings, the reinvented Woods aims to be your local pub with added extras – a good…

As you’ll know if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I’ve been lucky enough to attend the press events for a few season’s now and it’s always interesting to see which brands we’re going to learn more about. For Summer we returned to Filmore & Union for a decadent yet healthy afternoon tea which was served with…

Jamie’s Italian, Harrogate – Gluten Free Friendly

May 12, 2015

A little while ago we visited Harrogate for the BBC Good Food Show Spring and as we weren’t entirely sure how well gluten free diets would be catered for, we decided to stop off at Jamie’s Italian on the way to the Harrogate International Centre. I’d done some research online and not only do Jamie’s Italian have gluten free options, they also publish the calories and nutrition information which makes it so much easier to add the food to My…
