Near Enough: Scottish Borders, Upland Shepherd Huts

September 6, 2016

For my birthday Chris surprised me with a little trip to the Scottish Borders to stay at Upland Shepherd Huts. Situated in Abbey Saint Bathans, Upland Huts are situated about an hour away from Roulotte Retreat where we’d stayed in June. After how blown away we were with Roulotte Retreat, Chris knew he could trust anywhere he booked via Canopy & Stars and after quizzing me about places in the UK I’d like to visit, he made the booking. Tried & Tested: FreeRider Range Original Baby Wrap

September 1, 2016

I did a brief review of the FreeRider Range Original Baby Wrap in my earlier post, Great Gifts for First Time Parents but I thought it was worthy of a full review. I bought the baby wrap in a sleep deprived haze not long after Mini was born as it was on offer on Amazon, had great reviews and the description said it was suitable for newborn babies. The house itself is relatively small in comparison to some stately homes I’ve visited but that was welcomed in…

Great Gifts for First Time Parents

We found out about Mini quite early on and this allowed us to be reasonably prepared and pick up quite a few baby items in the sales throughout the pregnancy. My Dad is also a dab hand at finding bargains at car boots so we have half a wooden toy shop amongst other items that will take a couple of years for Mini to grow into. Because of this, it was really difficult to know what to ask for when…

Near Enough: Scottish Borders, Park Up and View

August 22, 2016

When we were on our little Scottish Borders adventure at Roulotte Retreat we realised that there were a number of places we could visit for free. They were park up and view places where we could take in the scenery and if we had been organised enough, enjoyed a picnic. I came across two of the locations by scouring Instagram ahead of our trip so I thought I’d save you the insta research and share them here. Lindean Loch (pictured…

Mini’s Arrival: My Post Natal Experience

August 21, 2016

During my pregnancy reading I came across a number of comments from other new parents which spoke of their post natal experiences and how it was often the case that post natal care wasn’t as consistent or helpful as that experienced during pregnancy. I’d very much assumed that we would only be in hospital a couple of days at most and naively didn’t consider having to learn how to do things in a strange hospital environment where there would be…
